YAY!

well...... we are MOVING!

finally!

it is going to be so good to get out of this apartment. it has been okay for us, but this new place will be so much better, and i think it is going to take a lot of stress off both of us.

we are leaving towards the end of january or the first of february. that is as long as we can tie up all the lose ends without any problems.

christmas

our christmas was really great! we went to my aunts house on christmas eve for a party, and had a lot of fun. then we came home and crashed. it was still pretty early but we were beat! we had both worked and it had been a long day...

christmas morning we got up and traded gifts. mike got me a new camera (which makes it really ironic that i am not posting any pictures....), a cute magnet board thing for the wall, and a few other things. i got him a guitar and a few other things that he had wanted. then we went to my parents house and opened gifts and had breakfast. then it was off to the boams where we got more stuff and just hung out for awhile. christmas night we went to my grandparents house for still more presents and to hang out with family.

when we got home we tried to watch a movie, but fell asleep within about the first 15 minutes. it had been a long day! we were really spoiled this year. we got a lot of cool stuff and we really appreciated it!

its really cool that both of our families are from the valley so we are able to see them both on the holidays. it makes for long days, but its always really fun!

holidays

well to be honest, i really wanted to be out of our apartment by christmas, but thats not going to happen, so we decided to make the most of it. we went out and bought a tree and some stockings. thats about all the decorating we can do since we don't have a lot of room, and our walls are cement so we cant hang anything up. we were picking out ornaments for the tree and i thought we needed a few fun ones so they werent all the same. i picked out some cute ones and told mike to find one he liked. he looked for a second and then came over with a pig. he was really excited and said can i get it?! im not sure why he wanted a pig, but whatever floats his boat. it is now hanging front and center on our tree.

between this, and christmas music playing for the last little while, i am really excited for christmas. i even got all my shopping done earlier than usual (which for me is only like a week before christmas). yay! it feels so good to be done and have most of the presents wrapped and under the tree!

i got pretty used to looking at our tree, and even though its pretty small it started to seem normal to me. then i went to my parents house. my dad brought up our tree from the basement and it is HUGE compared to ours. really fat and brushing the ceiling. thats fine. no big deal. maybe one day....

*SIDE NOTE*

even though this has nothing to do with christmas, it was really funny so i feel the need to share. yesterday mike went to maceys really early and then came back and had to go to construction. he was supposed to be there at 8 but was late getting home from maceys, and still had to shower so he knew he was already going to be late for construction. he came home and showered and changed and as he was leaving i hopped in the shower. well.... turns out he forgot his keys and locked himself out. i was just enjoying my long shower with the door closed, the fan on, and our showerhead that squeals the whole time. he was standing out in the hall ringing the doorbell and calling my phone hoping i would hear it. not a chance. so the second he hears the water finally turn off he calls my phone, and i actually heard it this time. he just said "PLEASE come open the door!" i was pretty confused but opened it and said "what are you doing?" he told me he had just been standing there the whole time because he couldn't get back in, and he didn't have his car keys. and here i had been taking my precious time in the shower. which he noticed. he said "that was the longest shower ever!!" what are the odds that i would have gotten in about 10 seconds before he locked himself out?... oops!! i felt pretty bad! needless to say, he was only about and hour and a half late for construction. good thing they werent expecting him at all that day becuase they thought he had a final! :)

MOAB

over thanksgiving we went to moab with my family and my cousins for a little vacation. it was reallly fun and really nice to get away, but it was FREEZING! apparently it never gets that cold down there but, with the baxter luck, we picked that week to go. we left on wednesday when they said it was supposed to be a terrible storm, but it actually wasnt bad. but we came home on sunday and we saw lots of wrecks on the freeway. i think most of it was probably just people going too fast and not paying enough attention. we mostly just went on hikes and went to look at the parks and stuff. at night we had lots of fun playing games in the condos. megan got sick the day after we got there so she spent a lot of time in the condo in bed. it was a lot of fun but there are so many people in the 2 families now that it gets a lot harder to do things with everyone, and stay together when we go places... but we made it work!
